SEA ISLAND, Ga. — South Carolina freshman Matt NeSmith and senior Dykes Harbin wrapped up play in the Jones Cup Invitational on Sunday at Ocean Forest Golf Club.

NeSmith finished the tournament tied for fourth with a three-round total of 217 (+1), while Harbin tied for 37th with a score of 230 (+14), as the two competed against a field that included 90 of the top amateurs in the country.

A native of North Augusta, S.C., NeSmith carded a 1-under 71 on Sunday to move five spots up the leaderboard, finishing the day with four birdies, three bogeys and 11 pars. In the first two rounds, he posted a 74 (+2) and a 72 (E) to move into a tie for ninth heading into the final round.

Harbin, a native of Augusta, Ga., turned in a round of 82 (+10) on Sunday after shooting 76 (+4) and 72 (E) in the first two rounds.

North Florida’s Sean Dale won the tournament with a total of 213 (-3) after firing a final-round 69 (-3).

South Carolina opens its spring schedule on Feb. 11-12 at the Savannah Quarters Intercollegiate in Savannah, Ga. The Gamecocks will then head to the Bayou City Collegiate Championships on Feb. 22-24 in Houston, Texas.
