QUEBEC CITY — South Carolina rising junior Cole Miller finished in 11th place on the one-meter springboard on Friday at the Canadian Summer Senior Diving Nationals in Quebec City, Canada.

Miller, a native of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, tallied a score of 278.15 in the finals. He finished 12th in the preliminaries with a score of 264.90 to advance to the finals.

“Finishing 11th here is a great accomplishment,” South Carolina diving coach Todd Sherritt said. “We still have to do some work to be a little more consistent. He has a much better performance in him. I would like to see him get into medal contention. He has the three-meter tomorrow, which is his strongest board.”

Miller returns to action on Saturday in the three-meter springboard preliminaries. Competition begins at 10 a.m.
