COLUMBIA, S.C. – Sophomore running back Mike Davis has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week.

Davis put the Gamecocks on his back in the second half, leading Carolina to a 28-25 come-from-behind victory at previously undefeated UCF. After logging just 5 carries for 17 yards in the first half as the Gamecocks fell behind 10-0, Davis exploded in the second half. He had 21 second-half carries for 150 yards and three touchdowns, to give him 26 carries for 167 yards on the day. The 3 rushing touchdowns tied the school record. He scored from 53, 13 and 13 yards out. His 53-yard run was his third rush of over 50 yards this season.
