The University of South Carolina football squad climbed three notches in both major polls released today. The Gamecocks (5-1, 3-1 SEC) are the No. 11 team in the country, according to this week’s Associated Press poll and are ranked ninth in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ poll.

The Gamecocks are coming off an impressive 52-7 win at Arkansas. They will travel to Knoxville this week to face the Tennessee Volunteers (3-3, 0-2 SEC). Game time is set for noon ET and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN. The Vols are coming off a bye week.

Alabama (6-0) and Oregon (6-0) continue to hold down the top two spots in both polls. Clemson, Ohio State and Florida State round out the top 5. The Gamecocks are the fourth-ranked SEC team in both polls, trailing the Crimson Tide, LSU and Texas A&M, all Western Division squads.
