Following a last-second 23-21 loss at Tennessee, the South Carolina Gamecocks tumbled to No. 20 in both the Associated Press and USA Today/ESPN Coaches polls, announced today.

The Gamecocks are ranked 21st in the first BCS poll. They are 20th in this week’s Harris poll.

The Gamecocks (5-2, 3-2 SEC) will look to rebound next week when they travel to Columbia, Mo. to face the SEC Eastern Division-leading Missouri Tigers (7-0, 3-0 SEC). The No. 5/7 Tigers are coming off an impressive 36-17 win over Florida.

Saturday’s game, set for Faurot Field/Memorial Stadium (71,004) is set for 7 p.m. ET (6 p.m. local). The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2.

The top four spots are the same in both polls. Alabama (7-0) and Oregon (7-0) continue to hold the 1-2 spots, while Florida State (6-0) moved up to third after a dominating win over previously undefeated Clemson. Ohio State (7-0) checks in as the fourth-highest ranked team in both polls.

The Gamecocks have been ranked in the A.P. top 25 for a school-record 56-consecutive polls, tying for the fifth-longest streak in the country.
