The No. 13/15 South Carolina football team took its annual team photo on Wednesday afternoon before heading to the practice fields for a 90-minute workout.

Running backs coach Everette Sands is happy to have Brandon Wilds back in the stable after missing the last five games with a dislocated elbow. “He’s been looking good this week,” said Sands. “We’re ready to get him back in the mix for the Florida game. I think he’s very excited. I think he’ll be ready to roll.” As far as a workload Sands thinks that Wilds can “handle what he needs to handle. I’m confident he can get in there and do whatever we need him to.”

Sands said his unit has been focusing on the fundamentals during the off week. “Just the little things. If you take care of the little things, the big things will take care of themselves. So we’re just working on the details of our assignments.”

Mike Davis, Jadeveon Clowney, Cody Waldrop and Mason Zandi have not practiced this week while nursing injuries. “We’re just making sure we’re smart (with Davis),” said Sands. “No use getting him banged up a little bit. He’s got a little bruise on his ribs and a little bit of a shoulder, so we’ll let him rest a couple of days and get him ready to roll. If we had to play on Saturday, I’m pretty sure he’d be ready to go.”

The Gamecocks (7-2, 5-2 SEC) will practice again on Thursday before taking the rest of the week off.
