Dec. 29, 2013

Each day this week we’ll post a journal-style entry here on GamecocksOnline.com, along with other video features and coverage of the week’s activities leading up to the game. Stay tuned for more and keep up with all the action on our Bowl Coverage page!

The Gamecocks’ Sunday got off to an early start with a morning visit to DisneyQuest, a five-story interactive gaming facility, for the Capital One Bowl’s Day for Kids community outreach event. Full Day for Kids feature available here with video highlights, photos, and more. Players from both the Carolina and Wisconsin squads did a great job playing with the kids.

After DisneyQuest the team made the trek back to Celebration High School for their “Wednesday” game week practice. They were able to practice through a few showers, and finish up before heavier rains took over. See practice photos here.

Today’s optional afternoon activities included a visit to SeaWorld, across the street from the team’s hotel, and a trip to downtown Orlando to check out the Orlando Magic take on the Atlanta Hawks in NBA action. With the game just a few days away, many players are also being joined in town by family and friends, and had the chance for good quality time with them tonight.

Stay tuned tomorrow as bowl activities continue with the team’s final full practice at Celebration High School, a bowl gift shopping trip to Best Buy, and the Florida Citrus Parade for fans.

Bonus feature… Chaz Sutton in a tiny car.
