Precious Holmes Named AgSouth Athlete of the Week

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Precious Holmes from the South Carolina track and field team has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week.

Holmes’ times in her three events this weekend each set a new meet record and sit atop the SEC in the young outdoor season. Her 400-meter time of 52.89 is currently the second-fastest time in the NCAA, and the Gamecocks’ 4×4 is the top time in Division I (3:36.11). She also contributed 30 points to the Gamecocks’ 184 points for the win and helped the team capture the Mayor’s Cup as the highest-scoring relay team.
