Cann and Davis Named to SI.com's All-America Team

Two University of South Carolina football players earned recognition on SportsIllustrated.com’s 2014 preseason All-America teams.

Senior offensive guard A.J. Cann was named to SI.com’s preseason first-team unit. Cann, a 6-4, 311-pounder from Bamberg, S.C., has started 38 games over the past three seasons.

Junior running back Mike Davis earned a spot on SI.com’s preseason second-team squad. Davis, a 5-9, 223-pounder from Atlanta, Ga., rushed for 1,183 yards as a sophomore, the fourth-highest single-season total in school history.

Cann, Davis and the rest of the Gamecocks will open the 2014 season on Thursday, August 28, when they host SEC foe Texas A&M at Williams-Brice Stadium. Game time is set for 6 p.m. ET and will be televised nationally on the SEC Network.
