CHARLOTTE, N.C. –
The Charlotte Sports Foundation (CSF) today announced that the 2015 college football kickoff game between South Carolina and North Carolina will be played on Thursday, September 3rd. Originally scheduled to be played on Saturday, September 5th the game will now be helping kick off the season on primetime national television.
”We are very excited to kick off the 2015 college football season right here in Charlotte,” said Will Webb, Executive Director of the Charlotte Sports Foundation. “Hosting a game between these nationally known programs is tremendous for the city of Charlotte and the entire region. Playing the game on Thursday night to open the season on national television is a great honor. It is also a great chance to once again showcase the city of Charlotte to a national audience. With the local and regional support of college football, especially Tar Heel and Gamecock fans, we are sure to have an electric atmosphere at Bank of America Stadium on September 3rd.”
Specific information to kickoff time, television network and ticket information will be released at a later date.
The Charlotte Sports Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created in 2013 to provide leadership for sports-based initiatives that enhance the economy and quality of life in the Charlotte region. CSF provides unique events and business opportunities around professional, collegiate and amateur sporting events, highlighted by the Belk Bowl and the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship.
