Junior Will Starke of the South Carolina men’s golf team has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week.

Starke finished tied for fourth at the Carpet Capital Collegiate to help lead the Gamecocks to the tournament title. It is Carolina’s first win at the event in 24 appearances against one of the strongest fields in collegiate golf. A native of Chapin, S.C., Starke wrapped up the event with a total of 209 (-7) after posting rounds of 73 (+1), 67 (-5) and 69 (-3). It was Starke’s sixth career top-five finish.
