WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The South Carolina women’s tennis team concluded its fall season Sunday at the Kitty Harrison Invitational in North Carolina. Hosted by North Carolina, the Gamecocks played Wake Forest in Winston-Salem in a hidden dual match to close out play in the event.

The Gamecocks and Demon Deacons played just one doubles match with Hadley Berg and Meghan Blevins defeating Wake’s Kasey Gardiner and Karen Forman 6-2, 6-2.

In singles play, Caroline Dailey downed Xue Zhang 6-4, 1-6, (10-5) and Brigit Folland used three sets to upend Kimmy Guerin as well by scores of 5-7, 6-3, (10-8). Sam Asch beat the Gamecocks’ Ximena Siles Luna 6-2, 6-3, Megen Cochran downed Andrea Retolaza from WFU 6-2, 7-6(5), and Carolina’s Natalie Looney dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision to Courtney Meredith.

South Carolina gets its spring schedule underway in January in Ann Arbor, Mich., at the Michigan Invitational over Jan. 17-19.
