BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Seniors Victoria Mitchell (Women’s Swimmer of the Week) and Patricia Kranz (Women’s Diver of the Week) and freshman Taylor Worrell (Women’s Freshman of the Week) were all honored by the SEC as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
The women defeated Missouri on Saturday 153.5-146.5 for their first SEC win of the season and the first dual meet victory over the Tigers in program history.
Mitchell tallied her fifth win of the season in the 1,000 freestyle, while also taking first place in the 200 backstroke and second place in the 400 IM.
Kranz won both boards for the Gamecocks, posting a score of 297.82 on the one-meter and 325.80 on the three-meter.
Worrell notched her first collegiate win in the 500 freestyle with her personal record time of 4:53.88. She also swam on the first-place 400 freestyle relay team that secured the team win for South Carolina.
The Gamecocks conclude the regular season hosting Clemson (women’s diving), Vanderbilt, Queens and Wingate in a two-day meet Jan. 23-24.
