Freshman Meredith Vay advanced to finals in all three of her events (50, 100 and 200 freestyle) at last week’s SEC Championships. She finished third overall in the 200 freestyle with a personal record of 1:45.94, which ranks second in school history. Vay set the school record in the 100 freestyle with her time of 49.16 and placed 15th overall. Her career-best time of 22.73, which she recorded in her 20th-place finish in the 50 freestyle, ties for third-fastest in school history. She also swam on the school record-setting 800 freestyle and 200 medley relay teams.
