COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina freshman swimmer Meredith Vay will represent the Gamecocks at the 2015 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, the NCAA announced Wednesday with the release of the official psych sheet. The championships will be held March 19-21 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.
“We’re very proud of Meredith Vay,” said head coach McGee Moody. “We are confident in her ability to represent the rest of our team at the National Championships.”
Vay officially qualified for the championships in the 200 freestyle (1:45.94). She will also swim in the 50 and 100 freestyle. She set the school record in the in the 100 freestyle with her time of 49.16 in the finals at the SEC Championships. She also ranks in the top three in school history in both the 50 and 200 freestyle.
