COLUMBIA, S.C. – Several Gamecocks are participating in summer baseball leagues throughout the United States. Here are some highlights from some of the players that are playing through June 29, 2015.

Alex Calvert, RHP (Bethesda Big Train – Ripken League)
Calvert is 3-0 with five starts this summer. Calvert has 20 strikeouts in 20.1 innings and has allowed seven runs, six earned, on 12 hits with a 2.65 ERA.

Gene Cone, OF (Cotuit Kettleers ââ’¬” Cape Cod League)
Cone is batting .182 (8-for-44) with two runs scored and a RBI. He has also stolen two bases.

Canaan Cropper, RHP (Lexington County Blowfish ââ’¬” Coastal Plain League)
Cropper is 2-1 with a 3.60 ERA after four starts with the Blowfish. Cropper has allowed 13 runs, eight earned, on 18 hits in 20.0 innings pitched with five walks and 13 strikeouts. Cropper pitched a complete game shutout in his last start with just three hits allowed in a 7-0 victory at Florence.

Alex Destino (Wilmington Sharks ââ’¬” Coastal Plain League)
Destino is batting .272 (22-for-81) with nine runs scored, four doubles, a triple a homer and 19 RBI in 19 games played. He has also pitched 1.1 scoreless innings of relief with two strikeouts.

Everett Eynon (Wilson Tobs ââ’¬” Coastal Plain League)
Eynon is batting .212 (14-for-66) with 11 runs scored, a double and two RBI.

Tyler Haswell (Florence Redwolves ââ’¬” Coastal Plain League)
Haswell is 2-1 with a 2.10 ERA in six games with five starts. He has allowed 11 runs, seven earned, on 27 hits with 12 walks and 29 strikeouts in 30.0 innings pitched. Opponents are batting .248 against him.

Tyler Johnson (Plymouth Pilgrims ââ’¬” The New England League)
Johnson is 3-0 with a 2.36 ERA in three starts. He has allowed six runs, five earned, on 19 hits with five walks and 13 strikeouts in 19.0 innings of work. Johnson worked seven scoreless innings last Thursday, June 25, in his last start, an 18-0 win over Danbury.

Marcus Mooney (Wilson Tobs ââ’¬” Coastal Plain League)
Mooney is batting .286 (14-for-49) in 14 starts with seven runs, three doubles and seven RBI.

John Parke (Wilmington Sharks ââ’¬” Coastal Plain League)
Parke is 3-1 with a 5.26 ERA in five starts with the Sharks. Parke has allowed 17 runs, 15 earned, on 33 hits in 25.2 innings with 18 walks and 20 strikeouts.

Weber Pike (Aldie Senators ââ’¬” Valley League)
Pike is batting .316 (18-for-57) with six runs scored, two doubles and 16 RBI. Pike ranks fourth in the Valley League with 16 RBI this summer.

Clark Scolamiero (Wilson Tobs ââ’¬” Coastal Plain League)
Scolamiero is hitting .269 (25-for-93) with 19 runs scored, three doubles and eight RBI. He leads the Tobs with 10 stolen bases.

Reed Scott (Wilmington Sharks ââ’¬” Coastal Plain League)
Scott is 0-1 with a 2.84 ERA in three appearances. He has allowed five runs, four earned, on 10 hits in 12.2 innings with three walks and nine strikeouts.

Madison Stokes (Lexington County Blowfish ââ’¬” Coastal Plain League)
Stokes is batting .294 (30-for-102) in 27 games played with 26 starts. Stokes has scored 15 runs, tallied 17 RBI and has four doubles and two triples. He also has stolen eight bases.

Hunter Taylor (Peninsula Pilots ââ’¬” Coastal Plain League)
Taylor is batting .213 (10-for-47) with five runs scored, a double, a homer and five RBI in 14 games with 11 starts.

Matthew Vogel (Wilmington Sharks ââ’¬” Coastal Plain League)
Vogel has not allowed a run in eight relief appearances and has notched three saves. Vogel has allowed just four hits in eight innings with five walks and 15 strikeouts. Opponents are batting .133 against him.

Taylor Widener (Lexington County Blowfish ââ’¬” Coastal Plain League)
Widener is 1-1 with a 0.98 ERA in five starts with the Blowfish. Widener has allowed six runs, three earned, on 19 hits with five walks and 37 strikeouts in 27.2 innings of work. Opponents are batting .188 against him. Widener’s 37 strikeouts ranks second in the Coastal Plain League. His ERA ranks fourth-best as well.

Jared Williams (Lexington County Blowfish ââ’¬” Coastal Plain League)
Williams is hitting .321 (34-for-106) with 22 runs scored and 13 RBI. He leads the Blowfish with nine stolen bases. He also has four doubles and a triple.

Matt Williams (Florence Redwolves ââ’¬” Coastal Plain League)
Williams is batting .214 (12-for-56) in 20 games played with 19 starts. He has 10 runs scored, two doubles, one triple and seven RBI.
