PINEHURST, N.C. — South Carolina rising sophomore Keenan Huskey lost to Clark Engle 3 and 2 in the quarterfinals of match play at the North and South Amateur on Thursday at Pinehurst No. 2.

Huskey, who qualified for match play with a tie for fifth finish in stroke play on Wednesday, led 1 up through two holes, but Engle won five of the next eight holes to build a 4 up lead that Huskey was unable to come back from.

A native of Greenville, S.C., Huskey dominated his first-round match Thursday morning, defeating Henry Do 5 and 4. He won seven of the first nine holes to build a 6 up lead at the turn on his way to securing a spot in the quarterfinals.
