University of South Carolina quarterback Connor Mitch has been released from the hospital and is doing well, according to team physician Dr. Jeffrey Guy.

Mitch, a 6-3, 211-pound redshirt sophomore, was admitted to Palmetto Richland Hospital in Columbia on Saturday after being injured in the Gamecocks’ loss to Kentucky. He suffered a sprained right shoulder in the contest and was kept for observations after experiencing complications from a hip pointer injury he sustained in the season-opening win over North Carolina on September 3.

Mitch will be re-evaluated over the next several weeks for both injuries.
