COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina held a two-hour workout Tuesday afternoon at the practice fields. The Gamecocks host UCF on Saturday with kickoff set for Noon on ESPNU.

Co-defensive coordinator Jon Hoke noted that there could be a few changes in the defensive lineup this week.

“T.J. Holloman (could) play a little more,” said co-defensive coordinator Jon Hoke. “We have to figure out what are best group of corners are, who we want to play there. It is really at those positions, linebacker, corner, and then the safety position, rotate some guys through there.”

Coach Hoke noted that Holloman saw action in last week’s game vs. Georgia and he is expected to contribute on the defensive side vs. UCF this week as well.

“He played SAM the last game,” said Hoke. “He did a good job, played hard. He is an experienced guy that has played, we are excited to see (what he can do).”

After reviewing the tape from the Georgia game, Hoke noted several things that the defense is working on to improve for this week’s game vs. the Knights.

“(We could have) played better as a group collectively, called a better game, collectively, as coaches, coached better” stated Hoke. “We will go back to work, fix things we didn’t do well and try to get better every week.”

Both senior tailback Brandon Wilds (rib) and junior cornerback Chaz Elder (rib) did not participate in Tuesday’s practice. The Gamecocks will return to the practice fields Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
