COLUMBIA, S.C. ââ’¬” Sophomore goalkeeper forward Abbey Crider has been named SEC Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.

Crider played all 180 minutes on the weekend as the Gamecocks defeated No. 4 Texas A&M 2-1 and Alabama 3-0 to remain undefeated in conference play. Thursday’s win marked South Carolina’s first-ever win over Texas A&M. Crider allowed just one goal against the Aggies and made a key save in the 85th minute to keep the match at a 1-1 tie. She finished the week with four saves and improved to a perfect 5-0-0 on the year.
