COLUMBIA, S.C. – The January clinic days have been set for Bev Smith’s Softball Camps at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field. The coaches clinic is set for Sun., Jan. 17th, while the day camps for players are scheduled for Mon., Jan. 18.
South Carolina’s staff welcomes high school and travel ball coaches to the Sunday clinic, where the Gamecocks will share their methods and how they plan practices. They will go over hitting practice plans, pitching drills and defensive drills while also discussing the recruiting process with those players. The coaches attending will have a chance to watch a South Carolina practice on Sunday afternoon as well as the Monday clinics. All this is included for a $55 fee for early registration or $75 on the day of (cash only). Confirm your school checks with associate head coach Lisa Navas to ensure your spot in the sessions.
Players looking to up their game, especially ahead of the spring season, can come to the Monday sessions to improve their game. The morning session focuses on improving the battery (pitchers and catchers), while the afternoon will see players concentrate on the offensive side of their game in a clinic titled “Hitting: More Than a Swing.” Each players’ clinic costs $60 per person.
