High School senior Keir Thomas has officially signed his financial aid agreement and will enroll at the University of South Carolina for the spring semester, the Gamecock football program announced today.

Thomas, a defensive end from Miami, becomes the fifth high school student-athlete to graduate early and enroll for the spring semester, joining Bryan Edwards, C.J. Freeman, Brandon McIlwain and Chris Smith.

Graduated from Miami (Fla.) Central High School at the end of the fall semester and enrolled at South Carolina in January… coached by Roland Smith…played multiple positions, including nose guard, defensive tackle, defensive end and linebacker… racked up 22 sacks among his 83 tackles as a senior… recorded 71 tackles and 18 sacks as a junior… regarded as a three-star prospect, the 22nd-best strongside defensive end in the country and the 49th-best player in Florida, according to Rivals… 247Sports ranks him as a three-star prospect, the 26th-best strongside defensive end in the nation and the 64th-best player in the Sunshine State… originally committed to Florida State… also visited Arkansas, Auburn and Tennessee before announcing his decision to become a Gamecock on Christmas Day.
