COLUMBIA, S.C. ââ’¬” Junior Caroline Dailey of the No. 11 South Carolina women’s tennis team has been named to the SEC Women’s Tennis Community Service Team, the league office announced on Tuesday. The conference sponsors community service teams in all 21 sports to highlight student-athletes who give back to their community.

A native of Sarasota, Fla., Dailey led the team in community service hours with contributions to several organizations. She volunteered in the Lake Katherine neighborhood following October’s massive flooding, assisting with cleaning and boxing items for residents who were forced to move out of their homes. After the tragic flood, she also raised money and donations for flood victims at the Harvest Hope Food Bank and Red Cross. Furthermore, she volunteered with Meals on Wheels to deliver packaged meals to seniors’ homes and assisted as a cashier at a food booth at a Greek Food Festival in Columbia. Dailey also participated in National Girls and Women in Sports Day by attending a meet and greet at a South Carolina women’s basketball game.

South Carolina women’s tennis begins play in the SEC Tournament Thursday at 3 p.m. ET. For updates and team information, stay tuned to www.GamecocksOnline.com or follow the team on Twitter and Instagram (@GamecockWTennis).
