COLUMBIA, S.C. — The NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Selection Show is set to stream on Tues., May 3 at 5 p.m. ET live on NCAA.com, announcing the 64-team field for the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
The 16 regional host sites for the first and second rounds (May 13-15) will also be revealed during the 30 minute-live broadcast. The winner of each regional will advance to the NCAA Championships (May 19-24), which will be held in Tulsa, Okla.
No. 13 South Carolina, which has advanced to the second round in each of the last two seasons under head coach Kevin Epley, will be making its 22nd-straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Sophomore Hadley Berg went 2-0 in singles in last year’s regional, while senior Ximena Siles Luna and juniors Caroline Dailey and Brigit Folland also claimed a singles victory.
The Gamecocks reached the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament for the sixth time in eight seasons last week with a 4-0 sweep of Ole Miss, before falling to fourth-seeded Auburn.
