Fans Encouraged to Arrive Early for Saturday's Game
Sept. 15, 2016
A sold out crowd will welcome new head coach Will Muschamp and the South Carolina Gamecocks (1-1) as they open up the home portion of the 2016 schedule on Saturday, September 17, with a 4 p.m. non-conference contest against the East Carolina Pirates (2-0).
It’s Parents’ Weekend on the Columbia campus, which includes a Parents’ Weekend Tailgate Party from 1:30-3:30 pm on the old football practice fields, at the corner of Bluff and National Guard Roads. That means thousands of freshmen and their parents, many of whom have never attended a game at Williams-Brice Stadium, on hand, and additional pedestrian traffic incurred around the stadium.
All fans are asked to plan accordingly and are encouraged to arrive early. Gamecock parking lots open at 10 am and the Fairgrounds parking lots open at 11 am.
South Carolina has adopted a Clear Bag Policy this season. Only clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags that do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″ and/or a small clutch bag, with or without a handle or strap, that does not exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″ will be allowed into the stadium. An exception may be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at West Premium Gate 21, Southeast Gate 55 and East Gate 81.

Saturday’s game will be televised on SEC Network with Dave Neal and Matt Stinchcomb in the booth and Olivia Harlan on the sidelines. WKNT-FM, 107.5 The Game, is the Columbia radio home for Gamecock Sports. The Gamecocks lead the all-time series over the Pirates, 13-5.
