REUNION, Fla. — South Carolina women’s golfers Katelyn Dambaugh and Anita Uwadia remain in the top 10 at the 2016 ANNIKA Intercollegiate following two days of competition. The Gamecocks posted a 290 (+2) on Monday at Watson Course and will head into Tuesday’s final round in a tie for fourth place at 12-under (564) for the tournament.

Dambaugh sits in a tie for fourth at 7-under (137) following her second-round 73 (+1). The senior, who opened the 54-hole event with a program-record 64 (-8) on Sunday, will head into the final round four strokes off the individual lead. Dambaugh notched three birdies Monday, beginning on the par-4 sixth, and she made the turn at even (36). Her final two birdies of the round came on Nos. 15 and 17.

Uwadia continued to impress in her South Carolina debut, carding her second-straight 69 (-3) to move into a tie for seventh (138, -6). She closed her front nine with back-to-back birdies, and the Okoko, Nigeria, native played her final nine holes at 2-under following birdies on the par-4 11th and par-5 14th.

Junior Ainhoa Olarra turned in an up-and-down round that included four birdies and four bogeys. Following a bogey on No. 10, Olarra found her stroke and registered birdies on Nos. 13 and 14 before closing her round with pars in three of her last four holes to post a 74 (+1). Olarra sits in a tie for 29th at 1-under (143) through two rounds.

Sophomore Marion Veysseyre shot a 2-over 74 in round two to end her day in a tie for 43rd (147, +3). She recovered from four front-nine bogeys, and carded an even 36 following the turn. Senior Jia Xin Yang is tied for 53rd (150, +6) after her 6-over 78 performance on Monday.

UCLA moved atop the leaderboard at 25-under (551) after recording a 272 (-16) in round two, while Arkansas (553, -23) and Georgia (557, -19) occupy second and third place. The Razorbacks boasted the low round of the day, carding an 18-under (270).

“We settled in late in the round, but overall it was not an easy day for us. Things just weren’t falling our way today. Tomorrow will be about playing with patience and no expectations. I have a lot of confidence in this group, and a great day is waiting for us tomorrow.”

Round Changer

Following her lone bogey of the day on No. 4, freshman Anita Uwadia tallied four birdies and played her final 14 holes at 4-under. Uwadia has collected nine birdies through two rounds.
