Gamecocks Head to Atlanta for Final Fall Competition

Meet: Georgia Tech Invitational
Date: November 17-19
Facility: Campus Recreation Center – McAuley Aquatic Center | 750 Ferst Drive, Atlanta, GA 30332
Format: The meet will be conducted under NCAA rules, running short course yards for all sessions. All individual events will swim as prelims and finals, except the 1650 freestyle (timed finals). All finals will consist of three heats (non-scoring bonus, consolation and championship) of ten individuals each heat. All relays will compete in finals, with the last heat being seeded will all “A” relay teams.
Scoring: Team scores using championship scoring through 20 places: 26-23-22-21-20-19-18-17-16-15-12-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 (scores double for relays; only designated “A” relays scores).
COLUMBIA, S.C. ââ’¬” The South Carolina swimming and diving program will wrap up the fall season on the road this weekend in Atlanta for the Georgia Tech Invitational, November 17-19.
The Gamecock women swimmers are coming off of a two-week break since their last meet in Fayetteville, Ark., with the Razorbacks, where they defeated Arkansas 177-123. The women’s diving team took on in-state rival Clemson on November 9 and defeated the Tigers for the 21st consecutive year.
Carolina’s men last competed October 28 in College Station, Texas where they fell 176-118 to Texas A&M.
Swimming Opponents
Gamecock swimmers will compete against Alabama, Arkansas (women), Auburn (women), Campbell, East Carolina, Florida, Florida Gulf Coast (women), Georgia Southern (women) and Georgia Tech.
Diving Opponents
Gamecock divers will compete against Alabama, Arkansas (women), Auburn, BYU, Clemson (women), East Carolina, Florida Gulf Coast (women), Georgia Southern (women) and Georgia Tech.
