Fry Named to 2016 SEC Community Service Team

Nov. 30, 2016

University of South Carolina senior placekicker Elliott Fry was named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team for the sport of football, it was announced today.

Fry, a 6-0, 170-pounder from Frisco, Texas, has been active in the community, most notably with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Fry has an affinity for that organization, as he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as a seven-year-old. Fry, the Gamecocks’ all-time leading scorer, has also been nominated for the Wuerffel Award and for the AFCA Good Works Team. He is also a two-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll.

The SEC names a Community Service Team for each of its 21-league sponsored sports, looking to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to his community through superior service efforts.
