No. 12 Gamecocks on the Road to Close Regular Season

COLUMBIA, S.C. — No. 12 South Carolina women’s tennis wraps up its regular season this weekend with a pair of road dates. The Gamecocks first head to No. 5 Vanderbilt for a Friday matchup at 3 p.m. CT, before a battle at No. 13 Kentucky set for Sunday at 12 p.m. ET.
The Gamecocks (16-6, 7-4) enter the weekend tied for fourth in the SEC standings with No.13 Kentucky after adding a 2-0 record last weekend over No. 20 Mississippi St., 4-1, and No 27 Ole Miss, 4-2.
Gamecock Notables
- South Carolina maintained a top-15 ranking in this week’s Oracle/ITA Rankings, moving up one spot to No. 12.
- Ingrid Gamarra Martins came in at No. 43 in the singles rankings with freshman Mia Horvit moving into the No. 53 spot.
- The Gamecocks boast two ranked doubles pairs, Hadley Berg and Paige Cline come in at No. 27, up from No. 37, while the duo of Berg and Caroline Dailey maintained their No. 57 ranking.
- Junior Hadley Berg added a 2-0 record in singles play to stretch her win streak to 18, staying perfect in dual play in the spring, besting the previous Gamecock record of 17-0 to take the best start in South Carolina women’s tennis history.
- Senior Brigit Folland turned in a 4-0 record on the weekend, her second straight weekend posting a perfect record in both singles and doubles play.
QUICK HITS: NO. 5 VANDERBILT
- The Commodores are 15-5 overall and 10-1 in the SEC this season including a 7-1 record at home.
- Vanderbilt’s lone league loss comes from a 4-2 defeat to No. 13 Kentucky on March 18 on the road.
- Vandy will close out their regular-season schedule Sunday, facing No. 1 Florida at home.
- Ranked singles: Astra Sharma (4), Sydney Campbell (17), Fernanda Contreras (91) and Christina Rosca (98).
- Ranked doubles: Sharma and Emily Smith (5), Rosca and Sharma (74).

- The Wildcats are 7-4 in the SEC and 16-6 overall, posting an impressive 7-2 road record.
- Kentucky is coming off an 0-2 weekend, falling to LSU and Texas A&M in their final road matches.
