No. 11 Women’s Golf at ANNIKA Intercollegiate

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Senior Ainhoa Olarra carded a 2-under 70 to lead No. 11 South Carolina women’s golf in round two of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate Monday at Olympic Hills Golf Club. The Gamecocks ended the day in sixth place with a 36-hole mark of 579 (+3) after posting a second-round 288 (E).

Olarra, who sits in a tie for 16th at even (144), boasted a strong start to her round following birdies on three of her first five holes. She made the turn at 1-under 35 and registered a pair of birdies down the stretch, tallying ones on Nos. 14 and 18.

Carolina sophomore Lois Kaye Go shot par or better for the second-straight day, recording an even 72. The Cebu City, Philippines, native, who will enter Tuesday’s final round in a tie for 12th (143, -1), posted a back-nine 33 (-3) behind birdies on Nos. 13, 14 and 16.

Sophomore Ana Pelaez (T32, +5) and junior Marion Veysseyre (T28, +4) both posted a 1-over 73 after displaying steady play throughout round two. Pelaez notched 15 pars to go with a birdie on No. 13, while Veysseyre registered birdies on the par-4 second and par-4 fifth.

Anita Uwadia (145, +1) will head into tomorrow’s final round in a tie for 18th after firing a 2-over 74. The Okoko, Nigeria, native made the turn at 3-over 39 before settling in and shooting par or better on each of her final nine holes. Her two birdies on the day came on the par-4 eighth and par-5 18th.

No. 1 Arkansas (570, -6) remained atop the leaderboard after carding a second-round 282 (-6), while No. 16 Stanford and Texas sit in a tie for second place with a 36-hole total of 574 (-2). Furman’s Natalie Srinivasan holds the individual lead with a two-round mark of 138 (-6).

South Carolina senior Ainhoa Olarra posted a 2-under 70 Monday behind five birdies. Olarra’s seven birdies through two rounds of action lead the Gamecocks.
