No. 11 Women’s Golf at ANNIKA Intercollegiate
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — South Carolina sophomore golfers Lois Kaye Go and Anita Uwadia both earned top-20 finishes at the 2017 ANNIKA Intercollegiate Tuesday at Olympic Hills. The No. 11 Gamecocks posted a final-round 296 (+8) and finished sixth at the 54-hole event with a three-day total of 875 (+11).
Go, who shot par or better in each of the first two rounds, carded a 1-over 73 in the final day of action to finish in a tie for 14th (216, E). The Cebu City, Philippines, native made the turn at 1-under 35 following a birdie on the par-5 sixth, and she added another on No. 13. She totaled 13 pars on her round and finished the week with seven birdies.
Uwadia placed in a tie for 18th (218, +2) after firing a 73 (+1) Tuesday. She recorded a 1-under 35 on her back nine in a stretch highlighted by birdies on Nos. 14 and 18. Both birdies came on par-5 holes for Uwadia, who shot par or better on 14 of her final 15 holes.
Gamecock senior Ainhoa Olarra finished just outside the top-20, placing in a tie for 22nd with a three-round total of 220 (+4). The San Sebastian, Spain, native shot a final-round 76 (+4) and notched her lone birdie of the day on the par-5 14th.
Ana Pelaez (T30, +7) saw an up-and-down final day after tallying four birdies and four bogeys. The sophomore, who carded a 74 (+2) in the last round, notched back-to-back birdies on Nos. 4 and 5 and added two more after the turn, earning ones on the par-4 11th and par-5 14th.
Carolina junior Marion Veysseyre recorded a 7-over 79 Tuesday to finish in a tie for 39th (227, +11). She registered two birdies on her round, carding ones on Nos. 5 and 14.
No. 1 Arkansas finished atop the leaderboard with a three-round score of 848 (-16). UCLA (2nd, -4) placed second, while No. 16 Stanford (3rd, +6), Texas (T4th, +9) and No. 13 Furman (T4th, +9) rounded out the top five. Maria Fassi of the Razorbacks captured the individual title after totaling a 54-hole mark of 206 (-6).

South Carolina sophomore Anita Uwadia sported a strong finish to her week at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, carding birdies on two of her final five holes. Her seven birdies at the tournament ranked second among Gamecocks.

- South Carolina’s 186 at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate led the 12-team field.
- Senior Ainhoa Olarra paced the Gamecocks with eight birdies at Olympic Hills Golf Club. She has led Carolina in birdies in each of the team’s first two tournaments of the fall.
- Anita Uwadia’s 18th-place showing this week gave the sophomore back-to-back top-25 finishes to start the season. She tied for 22nd at the 2017 Mason Rudolph Championship in September.
- This week marked sophomore Lois Kaye Go’s first top-20 finish for the Gamecocks.

South Carolina returns to action later this month when it competes at the 2017 Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational. The 54-hole event in Chapel Hill, N.C., which takes place Oct. 13-15, will be contested at the Finley Golf Course.
