Baseball Faces UNC Wilmington Monday in Greenville Regional Championship Game

GREENVILLE, N.C. — The University of South Carolina baseball team will face UNC Wilmington in game six of the 2018 Greenville Regional Monday afternoon (June 4) at 1 p.m. South Carolina needs to win one game to advance to the Fayetteville Super Regional. If UNC Wilmington wins the first game, there will be an if necessary game played at 5 p.m.

  • South Carolina is 2-0 at the Greenville Regional, defeating Ohio State 8-3 and East Carolina 4-2. UNC Wilmington fell in its opening game, 16-7, but turned around and won a 13-inning contest against Ohio State on Saturday, then defeated ECU, 9-7, on Sunday night.
  • The Gamecocks are hitting .319 in their two regional contest, with Danny Blair going 4-for-5 with three RBI.
  • South Carolina’s pitching staff has a 1.50 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 18 innings pitched in the two regional contests.
