Gamecocks named 18Birdies All-Academic Team by GCAA

Carolina received President's Special Recognition for the third-straight year.

NORMAN, Okla. — South Carolina men’s golf was recently named an 18Birdies All-Academic Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America for the 10th consecutive season. The Gamecocks earned President’s Special Recognition (team GPA of 3.5 or higher) for the third-straight year.

Carolina was one of just 26 schools in NCAA Division I to earn special recognition.

The Gamecocks, who have a long history of academic prowess over the years, have been named an All-Academic Team by the GCAA every season since the award started in 2009.

Senior Keenan Huksey, senior Ben Dietrich, junior Will Miles, junior Scott Stevens, junior Ryan Stachler, sophomore Caleb Proveaux and sophomore Jamie Wilson were named to the 2018 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll. Freshmen Jack Parrott and Andrew Spiegler were named to 2017-18 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll. Huskey, Miles and Stevens were also named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholars.
