Down-Jenkins Finishes Runner-Up at Auburn Invite

AUBURN, Ala. — South Carolina true freshman Anton Down-Jenkins posted a season best score of 421.95 in the men’s three-meter dive finals, but finished runner-up in the event on Tuesday at the Auburn Diving Invite.

Down-Jenkins led all divers in prelims with an average score of 7.39 to finish with a 409.50 total.  The Gamecock true freshman followed up with a strong finals session, scoring an 8.5 from all three judges on his reverse two and a half somersault pike.
 
Mikaela Lujan had the best finish on the women’s side for a second straight night, finishing third in the women’s one-meter dive with a finals score of 282.40.
 
The Auburn Diving Invite will conclude on Wednesday morning with both the prelims and finals sessions for the men’s and women’s platform competitions.
