Gamecocks Climb Two Spots to No. 7 in ITA Poll

TEMPE, Ariz. – The South Carolina women’s tennis team is now the No. 7-ranked team in the country as released in the newest Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) poll on Tuesday evening.
 
The Gamecocks moved up two spots from their previous No. 9 after two wins over ranked opponents on the road. First, Carolina took down No. 41 Missouri, 4-0, on Friday, March 8, and then blanked No. 44 Arkansas, 4-0, on Sunday, March 10.
 
Overall, 14 of South Carolina’s 20 opponents for the dual-match season are currently ranked in the ITA’s top-40. Of those 14, eight are SEC foes.

Next, the Gamecocks play host to No. 2 Georgia and No. 16 Tennessee on Friday, March 15 at 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 17 at 1 p.m., respectively, at the Carolina Tennis Center.
