Davies Advances at ITA All-American
TULSA, Okla. – South Carolina women’s tennis junior Megan Davies moves on in the Pre-Qualifying Draw at the ITA Women’s All-American Championships after winning a pair of matches on Saturday at the Case Tennis Center LaFortune Park in Tulsa, Okla.
First up, No. 125-ranked and No. 13-seeded Davies outlasted Michigan State’s Lauren Lemonds, 6-0, 7-5. Taking her second match in easy fashion, Davies defeated Danielle Wolf of Ohio State, 6-0, 6-1. Next, she faces No. 111-ranked and No. 5 seeded Elise van Heuvelen Treadwell from Iowa at 9 a.m. ET.
Also competing on Saturday, Silvia Chinellato claimed her first match in the bracket, 7-6 (4), 6-1, against Mizzou’s Risa Fukutoku. She then fell to No. 13-seeded Akanksha Bhan of Columbia, 6-3, 6-4.
