Gamecocks Ready for ITA Regionals

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina women’s tennis team is ready for its sixth tournament of the fall season as the Gamecocks head to Winston-Salem, N.C. for the ITA Carolina Region Championships hosted by Wake Forest from Thursday to Monday.
 
Hosted at the Wake Forest Tennis Center, there will be B draw singles, qualifying singles, main draw singles and main draw doubles over the course of competition.
 
The Gamecocks competing in the main draw include, Silvia Chinellato, Ana Luiza Cruz, No. 125 Megan Davies, No. 49 Mia Horvit, Gabriela Martinez Asensi, Elise Mills and Emma Shelton. Representing Carolina in the qualifying draw is Kennedy Wicker. Kendall Couch is set for the B draw.
 
Doubles teams are as follows for South Carolina: Horvit and Davies, Asensi and Cruz, Chinellato and Shelton, and Mills and Wicker.
 
The programs in the Carolina region are: Appalachian State, Campbell, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, Davidson, Duke, East Carolina, Elon, Furman, Gardner-Webb, North Carolina, North Carolina Central, N.C. State, Presbyterian, South Carolina, UNC Charlotte, UNC Greensboro, UNC Wilmington, Wake Forest, Western Carolina, Winthrop and Wofford.
 
Play starts with two rounds of qualifying singles at 9 a.m. and two rounds of main draw doubles at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
