Gamecocks Announce 2020 Signing Class

Columbia, S.C.  – Head coach Kalen Anderson and the South Carolina women’s golf team added a pair of international talents, Kaiyuree Moodley and Paula Kirner, to the 2020 signing class over the weekend.

“I’m extremely excited to announce the 2020 Gamecock women’s golf signing class,” Anderson said. “Each of these players have a heartfelt enthusiasm for the University of South Carolina, as well as a gritty competitiveness on the golf course.”

Moodley joins us from the city of Lone Hill, a suburb north of Johannesburg, South Africa. She has represented South Africa at both the junior and senior level, competing in the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Argentina. She also took the top honors at the South Africa Rose Bowl in 2017, the Southern Cape Ladies Open in 2018 and the Boland Championship in 2018. Earlier this year she took second place at the ANNIKA Invitational USA.

“Kaiyuree is a fierce competitor and rises to challenges presented to her,” Anderson said about her incoming Gamecock. “With her incredible passion and work ethic, I am excited to watch Kaiyuree’s growth and success in our program over the next four years.”

Kirner hails from Lorsch, Germany. She took fifth place at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Argentina, and she’s tallied four German National Championships during her amateur career. Additionally, Kirner took second at the International Amateur Championship earlier this year and third place at the British Girls Championship in 2017.

“Paula will bring a wealth of international tournament playing experience to our lineup,” Anderson said. “She is currently ranked 49th in The World Amateur Women’s Golf Ranking, and she has represented the German National Team in a multitude of international competitions including the Youth Olympics. Paula’s competitive attitude and ability to ‘get the job done’ in all situations is extraordinary.”

The current Gamecocks are deep in preparation for the spring half of their season. Check back at Gamecocksonline.com for more information as it’s announced.
