Diving Heads to Auburn for Winter Invite
COLUMBIA, S.C.— South Carolina diving will hit the road for its first of two winter invites, starting with the four-day Auburn Diving Invitational. The Gamecocks compete from Dec. 16-Dec. 19 in three events, 1-meter, 3-meter and platform against six other schools.
This season, the Gamecocks have seen freshman Mathilde Roxne and sophomore Yu Qian Goh earn their NCAA Zone qualifying scores for both the 1-meter and 3-meter events. For the men, sophomore Alex Claus has qualified for the platform event, sophomore Anton Down-Jenkins has qualified for the 1-meter and 3-meter event and junior Grant Summers has qualified for all three events.
QUOTEABLE: HEAD DIVING COACH TODD SHERRITT
“Looking forward to having the team compete at Auburn. We go to this invite ever year and the competition is always good. Since SEC championships are at Auburn this year it will be a good time to get adjusted and prepare for the meet. We hope to produce some great results before Christmas.”
