Gamecocks Gear up for Last Chance Invite

COLUMBIA, S.C—South Carolina swimming and diving will travel to Athens, Ga., for the Bulldog Last Chance Invite. The meet will take place Saturday and Sunday and be the final opportunity for the Gamecocks to reach the qualifying times for the NCAA Championships.
 
The Gamecocks will send 30 swimmers to the meet, making one final push to achieve the NCAA “A-Cut” times. Senior Itay Goldfaden is currently the lone Carolina swimmer to achieve an “A-Cut” time this season, swimming a 51.35 in the 100 Breaststroke to give him back-to-back SEC titles in the event.

“We are excited to travel to Athens, Ga., this weekend to race against some of the best athletes in the country.  We will be traveling with 30 members of our team.  This will be the last opportunity our team has to qualify for the NCAA Championships in a few weeks.  Our athletes are excited and ready to represent South Carolina on last time before championships.”
