Davis Named to All-SEC Second Team
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Junior Stephanie Davis has earned All-SEC Second Team honors after her performance at the 2020 SEC Indoor Championships. The honor for Davis, which she earned by finishing second in the women’s 400m, is the first of her career.
Davis clocked a time of 52.15, the sixth-fastest time in indoor program history, to finish as the 400m runner-up in the SEC. Her second-place time has her sitting at No. 8 in the country heading into the NCAA Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, N.M.
“I just realized that it was all worth it,” Davis said after the race. “All the build up, I used it to PR. It was just about executing the race and doing what I needed to do and being confident in myself. I’m thankful to have run against world class athletes because I know now if I can keep up with them then I can compete with anybody.”
The 2020 NCAA Indoor Championships will be held March 13-14 at the Albuquerque Convention Center. For a full look at the meet, and the schedule, click here.
