Goh Named SEC Female Diver of the Week

Senior had two wins vs. No. 4 Georgia and matched career-best score in 1-meter

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Senior Yu Qian Goh was named SEC Female Diver of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon. It’s the first weekly honor for Goh of her career at South Carolina.
 
Goh had impressive showing in the team’s opening dual meet of the season vs. No. 4 Georgia last Friday (Oct. 23) at Carolina Natatorium. She won the 1-meter after matching a career-best score of 308.25. The Wellington, New Zealand, native, was also victorious in the 3-meter with a score of 325.35.
 
A three-time NCAA Qualifier in both the 1-meter and 3-meter, Goh is one of the most experienced divers returning for the 2020-21 Gamecocks. Her two wins against the Bulldogs were the seventh and eighth of her career at Carolina.
 
The Gamecocks will be back in action again on Saturday, Nov. 14, against North Carolina at home for a men’s and women’s dual meet.
