Carolina went 2-2 on the final week of the regular season.

COLUMBIA – The University of South Carolina baseball team went 2-2 on the week, defeating Appalachian State in the midweek and winning the middle game against Tennessee in the final regular-season series of the season.

NOTES:
Carolina is the seventh seed in the SEC Tournament next week in Hoover. The Gamecocks will open tournament play on Tuesday afternoon (May 25) at approximately 2 p.m. Eastern (1 p.m. Central). If South Carolina wins that game, the Gamecocks would play Tennessee on Wednesday at the same time.
 
Brett Kerry had another magical performance on the mound in the 3-2 win over Tennessee. Kerry struck out eight in seven innings of work, allowing seven hits and two runs with no walks. Kerry is now 5-1 on the year with a 1.90 ERA.
 
Brady Allen had the game-winning hit, a three-run home run, in the Tennessee win on Friday night. Allen, who also homered on Saturday to lead off the game, has 13 home runs, second on the team behind Wes Clarke’s 21.
 
Clarke now leads the country with 21 home runs after his round tripper on Thursday night. He has 30 home runs in his career and he is tied for seventh on Caroilna’s single-season home run list.
 
CJ Weins pitched four innings of hitless baseball in a 2-0 win over Appalachian State. Weins has allowed just one hit in 9.1 innings pitched this season.
