Eight Gamecocks receive USTFCCCA All-America honors

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina track and field team earned a combined 11 Outdoor All-America honors, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Monday.
 
Rachel Glenn (High Jump), Ashton Lindley (400m Hurdles, 4x400m Relay), Malik Paul (Discus), Stephanie Davis (4x400m Relay), Aliyah Abrams (4x400m Relay) and Alysia Johnson (4x400m Relay) all received first team distinctions. Second team honors were given to De’Andreah Young (400m Hurdles), Aliyah Abrams (400m) and William Spencer Jr. (400m Hurdles). Stephanie Davis also received honorable mention All-America honors.
 
Student-athletes earned First-Team All-America status by finishing among the top-8 of their events – including as a member of a relay – at the 2021 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Eugene, Oregon. Second-Team All-America honors went to those student-athletes who finished between ninth and 16th place.
 
Honorable mention went to those student-athletes who finished 17th through 24th in their respective events at Hayward Field.

Up next is the U.S. Olympic Trials for both current and past Gamecocks. The meet will be held in Eugene, Ore., at Hayward Field from June 18-27.
