COLUMBIA, S.C. – The 12th ranked South Carolina women’s soccer team returns to Stone Stadium for its final non-conference match of the season when the Gamecocks host Virginia Tech Sunday, September 12, at 5 p.m. The game will be available on the SEC Network.

  • The Gamecocks stayed at the No. 12 spot in this week’s United Soccer Coaches Poll.
  • South Carolina dropped its first match of the season Thursday night, at 2-1 decision at Clemson.
  • Catherine Barry scored her first goal of the season in the 78th minutes. She had missed the previous four matches.
  • The Gamecocks continued their trend of using a deep bench as 20 players earned minutes in the Clemson match.
  • In six matches this season, South Carolina has used at least 20 players in every match; 24, 22, 21, 20, 22, and 20 players, respectively.
  • South Carolina is 2-1 this season against ACC opponents.
  • All-time, the Gamecocks are 29-30-4 against current members of the ACC.
  • Earlier in the week, the Gamecocks defeated Charlotte 4-1 Monday night.
