Four Gamecocks to Participate in Postseason All-Star Events

Quartet of Seniors Preparing for NFL Draft

Four University of South Carolina senior football players will showcase their talents and learn about the business-side of professional football in post-season all-star events. These events showcase the top college football seniors to NFL scouts and general managers around the country.
 
Sadarius Hutcherson is taking part in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl experience. Hutcherson, a 6-4, 320-pounder from Huntingdon, Tenn., played left guard for the Gamecocks in 2021, starting all 10 games. Named the SEC’s Offensive Lineman of the Week for his performance at Vanderbilt, Hutcherson made 39 career starts, most on the squad. The Collegiate Bowl is being hosted virtually on Jan. 13-14 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Adam Prentice will compete in the Spiral Tropical Bowl, which will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17, in Orlando-Kissimmee, Fla. Prentice, a six-foot, 245-pound fullback will play for the National team. A graduate transfer from Colorado State, Prentice played in all 10 games for the Gamecocks in 2020, catching a pair of passes. He was instrumental as a blocking fullback, helping Kevin Harris rush for more than 1,100 yards.
 
Quarterback Collin Hill will take part in the 2021 College Gridiron Showcase in Fort Worth, Texas from Jan. 17-21. Hill, a 6-4 222-pound graduate transfer from Colorado State, started the first eight games of the 2020 season for Carolina. He completed 59.1 percent of his passes for 1,411 yards. The first all-star event to implement an OTA format, CGS showcases players through practices and a controlled scrimmage with professional coaches.
 
Shi Smith has accepted an invitation to the 2021 Reese’s Senior Bowl, set for Jan. 30 in Mobile, Ala. Smith, a 5-10, 190-pounder from Union, S.C., was the No. 1 receiver for the Gamecocks all season. He caught 57 passes for 633 yards in nine games, ranking among the SEC’s top-10 in both receptions per game (6.3) and receiving yards per game (70.3). He logged 174 career receptions for 2,204 yards, fourth on the school’s all-time list for receptions and eighth on the school’s career receiving yards list.
