Gamecocks Pick Up Transfer Swimmer

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina swimming and diving team have signed transfer Nicholle Toh of Singapore, head coach Jeff Poppell announced today. She will join the program in January 2022.

Toh comes to South Carolina after spending her first year of collegiate competition of the University of New Mexico. During her freshman campaign, Toh achieved All-Mountain West honors in the 100 butterfly, 200 butterfly, and 400 freestyle relay. She placed second in the 200 butterfly and fourth in the 100 butterfly at the 2020 Mountain West Championships. The Lobos did not compete in the 2020-21 season.

“We’re very excited that Nicholle has decided to join us in January,” said Poppell. “She has the ability to immediately help us in the butterfly and sprint freestyle events as well as on relays.”

Toh attended British International School Phuket and swam for the Singapore National Team in international competition. She holds gold medals in the 100 butterfly at both the 2021 SNSC Invitational and the 2021 SNAG Invitational.
