South Carolina Athletics Prepares for Capacity Crowd Saturday

In anticipation of Saturday’s SEC home opener against Kentucky, Gamecock Athletics is preparing for a capacity crowd to start the Shane Beamer era of SEC football in Williams-Brice Stadium. As a part of this process, additional concessions and other gameday personnel will be on hand to enhance the gameday experience for fans.  At present, approximately 1,000 tickets remain for the contest.  
 
“We are excited for the first SEC home game in the Beamer era. Williams-Brice at night is always special, and we are in position to have a sellout crowd to support Shane and our student-athletes this weekend – that’s what it is all about.” said South Carolina Athletics Director Ray Tanner.  “This additional staffing will give our fans a great game day experience. I am appreciative of all of those who have worked hard these last two weeks to increase staffing numbers to assist our students and fans on game day.”
 
The additional staffing, up to 40 percent more in some areas of Williams-Brice Stadium, will be placed at stadium entrances, concession stands, premium areas and Guest Service Kiosks.
 
Also, of note for the weekend, the University of South Carolina will play host to SEC Nation on the Horseshoe and a boat show, sponsored by the South Carolina Boating and Fishing Alliance, in Gamecock Village on Saturday before the football game, starting at 2:30 p.m.
 
Fans should also note that Williams-Brice Stadium is a cashless facility. This weekend, fans will also notice more Reverse ATM’s around the stadium for fans looking to convert cash to card.  
 
Additionally, new fan services available to fans for this season include mobile concessions ordering in the 200-Executive Club level, as well as the Traditions Loge Suites and 2001 Club. Bar services have also been added to the The Founders Zone and 200-Executive Club level. Fans are also reminded that the scholarship lounge areas were closed after the 2019 season due to overcrowding and fire code issues.
 
The Athletics Department continues to encourage mask wearing at Williams-Brice Stadium for all fans to provide as safe an environment as possible.
