Divers to Compete in Knoxville
Knoxville, Tenn. – South Carolina divers will travel to Knoxville, Tenn., to compete in the Tennessee Diving Invitational. The four day event will begin on Mon., Jan. 3, and will run through Thu., Jan 6, at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center at the University of Tennessee.
“I’m really looking forward to the Tennessee Diving Invitational, as this is the first time we will have our full squad in preparation for the SEC Championships,” said head diving coach Dale Schultz. “Alex Claus did not compete here in the fall due to an injury and the addition of Brooke Schultz to our team helps give us depth in this eight-team meet. Everyone has been working hard with only six weeks left before SEC’s.”
Carolina will be competing against divers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Miami (OH), Missouri, Wisconsin, and host Tennessee.
The meet will consist of traditional men’s and women’s one-meter springboard, three-meter springboard, and platform events. There will also be a new team-style event, consisting of three divers from each team performing a combined six dives (two each). Teams will have at least one dive from the one-meter, three-meter, and platform to make up their team score.
Live results will be available on DiveMeets.com, with the exception of the team events.
