The Gamecocks beat App State on Tuesday and fell to Clemson three times on the weekend.
COLUMBIA – The University of South Carolina baseball team went 1-3 on the weekend, defeating Appalachian State on Tuesday night in Charlotte before falling to Clemson in three games on the weekend.

NOTES:
Will Sanders was magnificent on Friday night against Clemson, setting a career high with 14 strikeouts in seven innings pitched. Sanders won the Tom Price Award, handed out to the Most Valuable Player of the Carolina-Clemson series.
Michael Braswell went 8-for-13 with a pair of doubles in the Clemson series and also struck out a pair of batters on Sunday afternoon. Braswell leads the team with a .477 average after 11 games.
Braswell also picked up the save and scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the Tuesday win over App State. Braswell is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and nine strikeouts in 3.1 innings pitched.
Carolina came from behind to beat App State on Tuesday, scoring five runs in the fifth, two more in the sixth and one in the seventh in the 9-6 win. Andrew Eyster drove in four runs in the win and now has 18 on the season.
Carolina hosts Xavier on Tuesday night, then has a three-game set with No. 1 Texas this weekend at Founders Park. Saturday’s game will be televised on SEC Network.
